On assignments, you are allowed to interact with others to discuss and obtain help with basic concepts covered in lectures or the textbook and homework specification and clarifications. The following guidelines are to be observed:
Sharing detailed answers is not allowed.
What you hand in needs to be expressed in your own words and include your own explanations.
The following are considered cheating on assignments
Sharing or copying solutions.
Using material found on-line.
Working
with a tutor on an assignment and not disclosing this
information. Making a post or asking someone to make a post on a site
like StackExchange to get hints on solutions for an assignment problem.
Making your assignment available to others, intentionally or unintentionally. You need to take reasonable precautions to prevent others from using your work.
Penalties for academic dishonesty
A first instance of academic dishonesty will result in a zero for that assignment plus a letter grade deduction at the end of the semester.
A second instance of academic dishonesty will result in a course grade of F.
In accordance with the Purdue University Department of Computer Science Academic Integrity Policy, any instance of academic dishonesty on an exam, project, or assignment will be reported to the Dean of Students Office.
